Some rank hypocrisy from the Arab News.
Update
Note the not-so-subtle link to Isreal :
And yet, almighty America has decided it will do as it pleases with its prisoners: and to heck with international law. They have humiliated the prisoners by shaving their heads and beards, made them strip, and then wear a uniform that includes goggles to blind them, ear muffs to block sound and hoods to further disorient them. And gloves too. No wonder British tabloid headlines are screaming “TORTURE”. It’s sensory deprivation. Others have used this method as have the Israelis and now America has joined their infamous ranks. So much for civilized society.
Iran, Iraq, North Korea Dismiss Bush Accusations -- They claim not to be an Axis of Evil.
First, I wonder how many under-40 folks got the Axis reference, much less how many Gen-XYZ'ers got it. Me (cutting edge of GenX) -- I got it right off. I used to be a big time student of WWII, and the reference was obvious.
Read down in the article a little about France's comments -- they "questioned the merits of labeling nations as terrorist."
Hey France -- Get stuffed! France hasn't been a military power since the days of Napoleon. They needed Britain, Canada, and the US to defeat Germany in WWI, and a whole host of nations to beat them in WWII. Add in France's tendency to harbor terrorists, combined with the French intransigence when we bombed Libya back in the eighties, and you have a pretty useless nation.
Hooo-eeee! We got us a good'un in the White House.
Seriously, folks, I just got through reading the State of the Union Address, and reading about the SOTUA, and it sounded like a humdinger. Bush is shaping up to be a Great President. Peggy Noonan predicted this months ago in the WSJ.

The New Republic has an excellent article on residual racism at the University of Alabama.
The problem is the Greek organizations. Granted, they are nominally private organizations, but there is evidence of thuggish tactics used to affect external events.
BOROWITZ report.com has a great piece on the efficacy of Homeland Defense...
Thanks to Glenn Reynolds for pointing me to the Borowitz Report.

Danny Pearl, a WSJ journo is being held hostage in Pakistan. The terrorists are demanding the release of any Pakistanis in Guantanamo. I hope the guy gets out of it alive.
